At the beginning of her legal career over 2 decades ago, Djenita Pasic has practiced law with Frost Brown Todd as a member of its International Services Group. She served as a multinational, multilingual business attorney working on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate, international law, and trade compliance matters.
She has also counseled a number of European and American businesses in their business and legal matters through her consulting company, Brainswork USA, where she continues to serve as General Counsel and Chief Networking Officer for the United States.
From 2005 - 2019, Djenita also developed a teaching career as visiting professor at international business schools teaching International Commercial Contracts in Beirut, Lebanon and Bordeaux, France. She has also taught transactional corporate courses as an adjunct professor at her alma mater, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at University of Louisville.
In 2011, Djenita joined Khalid Kahloon to assist the growing immigrant population in the Louisville Metro area. Todd Lewis joined them in 2013 and they continue to work together and cooperate in a variety of cases from their separate practices.
Djenita’s current practice is focused on the needs of ordinary people, mostly immigrants, who have been injured or wronged, and who do not know how to navigate the complex legal system in the United States.
Together with a network of colleagues versed in various areas of law, Djenita has been assisting her clients in need of representation in cases involving personal injury, workers’ compensation, social security disability, workplace discrimination, estate planning, immigration and other matters.
Djenita has received numerous recognitions and awards for her civic engagements and is often an invited speaker and participant at various events.
Djenita is married to Dr. Resad Paya Pasic, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. In 2008, Djenita and Paya received MOSAIC Awards from Jewish Career and Family Services recognizing immigrants who are making significant contributions in their profession and in the Louisville community.
